Our classes are informal and try to bring encouragement and friendship to the students.

Tuesday evening at 6 pm. The classes concentrate on practicing conversation in themes relating to everyday life (e.g. making an appointment with a dentist or arranging for help if the heating breaks down in your house). The classes include both adult and children students.  After the lesson, the students are invited to stay for a free meal with people of different nationalities.

Thursdays lunchtime. We try to help students at different stages from beginners up to intermediate level and include people that have come to the UK a long time ago but haven’t got around to learn about reading and writing in English.

Our teaching is mainly focused on forming friendships and also helping in practical ways if necessary (for example getting information or making phone calls etc). The teachers enjoy learning about the countries from which the students come during the lessons.

At the moment we are teaching some classes online but we hope to do more face to face lessons, with social distancing and appropriate protective measures, in the coming weeks, depending on the coronavirus pandemic situation.

Please call, message or email us (info@riversoflife.org.uk) to find out about the classes.
